Observing the Everyday

As you all know I am way outside my comfort zone these days by having moved outside the city of Toronto, Canada and become a newbie country gal.  This is really pushing my love for adventure as I am having to reorient myself in so many ways that I never expected.  For example; in the “country” you have to drive everywhere; in the “country” all you have to listen to is your spouse expound upon fascinating topics regarding the septic bed or lingering resentments about his commute; in the “country” yes folks sometimes you have to take your own garbage to the dump.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, add to above;  job opportunities which dried up once I got here, dwindling resources, the highs and lows of menopause and the strange look in my lover’s eye when I peep, “I miss the city”.

Sometimes, oh yes, sometimes a person like myself has to hold her own counsel and live by what she preaches (oppps! I mean, teaches).  That’s right, the advice I am constantly giving to everyone else I must start following myself.  Or sometimes I need to get out of my own way and listen, observe and be still.  Smell the air, take note of the wind’s direction, see myself in my minds eye in the center of those four directions.  Walk respectfully into that path of pure potential and thank Creator for allowing me to show up another day.

Like my forefathers and grandmothers before me, I could allow my observations to dictate my actions instead of thinking I know it all.  This is where I forgot, “the magic happens”.

Today I was on my early morning walk with Bear the dog, worrying up my head with the usual distractions; my direction and finances.  From out of nowhere the horizon spilled 9 turkey vultures gliding on velvet thermals with soundless flight.  Patiently rising like ghosts, following the cushions of air they exuded a mood of majesty. As I watched them a great peace swept over me.  My worries seemed to dissolve and I understood I need to keep my faith strong.  I was reminded I am in the right place, all the time, zero is the starting place and all issues forth from this. Connecting with the peace deep inside me.  Isn’t this one of the things I am so on about with others?  Its difficult to get things accomplished when one is running around like the proverbial chicken with the head cut off. One just drops dead after a certain point.  Best to start at the beginning, where creation pours forth.

Thank you turkey vultures.   Even Bear stopped to pay you great birds homage.

Navigating through 2012 and Beyond

My prior post for predictions 2012 felt ominous, so I decided to post another article on how to navigate these difficult times. I chose the image on the left of the Archangel Michael to symbolize “prayer in action”.

One of the most important messages I get from the world of spirit and read in other spiritual teachers (whom I respect) about facing times of great worldwide change, is about meditation and cultivating positivity.  Now more than ever before it’s important to have a spiritual practice in one’s life, to model that to younger folks who so need our love and guidance at this juncture in world history.

What is a spiritual practice?  Spending time everyday (if you can) in contemplation, meditation and prayer.  Contemplation allows us to reflect on our day, being honest with ourselves where we may not have met up to our own expectations, we then forgive self and others who may have hurt us so we may turn toward the following day with light in our hearts.  Meditation cleans the mind and creates clarity so we may “hear” the soul’s voice and be led by our unique purpose in this lifetime.  Prayer can be passive but should also be active.  Prayer is a petition for help, it is a emanation from the deepest part of ourselves for healing, goodness and wellness for family, friends, the planet and her creatures or others who might be struggling. Engaging in prayer allows us to be guided positively and have the honesty to look at ourselves with fairness.  Finally it is important to commit actions based on the belief’s developed from these three, (contemplation, meditation and prayer).

There is a line from a Stevie Wonder song which I feel illustrates these principals, “When your moving in the positive, your destination is the brightest star”.

When this is practiced regularly, your soul finds its true voice and you will find yourself living more in alignment with the universal “light” energy.

Eating nutritious foods which are filled with light and healing energy.  Of course the best way to do this if you can is grow your own vegetables because you are also engaged with the magnetic field of mother Earth.
Here is a great book that teaches how to grow veggies on your own front lawn; http://www.amazon.com/How-Grow-More-Vegetables-Possible/dp/158008233

I don’t believe in microwaving my food and I try as best I can to eat organic vegetables, animals who have been treated humanely and their products.  I also try to drink spring water, this water tends to have a greater energetic charge.  I do the best I can, or pray over my food to nourish me and thank creator every day for my life and the food I have to eat on my table.

Walks in the forest.  If you are a city dweller, even walking on the Earth from time to time instead of the cement can make an enormous difference in your health and well-being.

Remember each and every one of us is connected to each other, so try to give the other guy a break, you don’t know what they might be going through at the time your path’s collide.  We are all made of stardust and to that star place we shall return, every person you meet has a little bit of you in them and you have a little piece of them in you!

Predictions for 2012

Lately I have been experiencing some strong dreams and wanted to share this information I am receiving with a wider audience. I do feel this will impact each and everyone of us.

For a few years now I have been getting very strong messages about viruses, microbes and bacteria on our Mother the Earth.  Everyone will (or may already have) noticed that food (even organic) will rot faster now because of this imbalance on Earth. This may get worse if we don’t start to take better care of Mother Earth and live more in alignment with her.  To ward off viruses and to keep healthy my husband and I both take anti-bacterial supplements from the health food store.  I take bee propolis and my husband takes oil of oregano on a regular basis.  We also engage in meditation and walking in the forest as often as possible to regulate our stress levels and keep us connected to the beneficial planetary energies.

In Chinese astrology it is the year of the water dragon, I find it interesting that some Chinese astrologers have predicted that this will be a more difficult year for viruses and sickness, because of the strength of the water element.

I have received a number of very upsetting dreams regarding the increase of wind on the planet.  Watch for winds occurring in Canada that seem to come from nowhere, they will pick up automobiles, power lines and people.

The economy will worsen this year, in fact there could be another serious economic collapse.  Even economic analysts have been voicing concerns, I would be very careful about speculation or overspending this year and into next year.

Radioactivity on Earth.  Something to be concerned about.  There is more radioactivity released from our experiments with plutonium and uranium than ever before, especially after the disaster last year in Japan with their reactors.  The Hopi native tribe in Arizona warned through their prophets about digging up this material from inside the earth in the 1960’s.  They believed (and so do I) that underground these elements have certain beneficial properties.  When dug up, even low level radioactivity (which scientist’s tell us is safe), changes life at a subatomic level.  Notice increased levels of aggression worldwide, this is increasing everywhere.  I believe people misunderstood the Hopi when they warned against using plutonium and uranium, that they were concerned about warfare.  I believe they were warning against increased amounts of aggression, mental illness, violence; which causes us to live out of connection with ourselves and Mother Earth.  The radioactive material released at the Japan reactors has already traveled once around the world through the jet-stream.

The best way to work with yourself is through meditation, prayer and connection to a positive community; and by cultivating positivity.  When we connect to the positive Earth energies we align ourselves with an energy and to others who are intent upon healing and repairing Mother Earth.  I try to say this to myself everyday “It’s doing good with what you’ve got that lights the morning star.”

The Dangling Carrot

The life of a seer is an interesting one, and when you become one you have to give up the illusion that you ever had any control over your life.  Everything revolves around your clients.  You have to let go of ego and become a servant to god, to humanity.

I know there are lots of nonbelievers out there.  I can tell you for a fact that God, Creator, Allah, the great Universal Mind is alive and well.  I cannot count the number of times something “out there” has intervened in my life, gotten me interested in a certain topic, in order that it would be an additional vehicle for synthesis or become new set of symbolism to work with clients.

We all come down here into this dimension to work on ourselves.  I know that seems a bit far-fetched when observing others sometimes, but we are all here to have some kind of “experience”.  I have been the instrument of spirit from time to time when a client has some resistance to learning or advancing to the next level.  I am told of all the goodies or rewards that will come if someone takes a certain course of action.  Quite often ego or following some pre-determined (also known as conditioning or following the status quo) course of action gets in the way.  I have watched many a friend or client resist their own growth out of fear and apprehension.

I have learned how stubborn I can be.  About 6 years ago I had a reoccurring dream which a teacher in my spiritual community interpreted that I should begin doing hands on healing.  Of course I resisted like gang-busters, I didn’t want the responsibility.  A very dear friend who is also a psychic was giving me a session, he stopped suddenly and said, Lorraine I am being told your supposed to start doing healing work.  I got angry, oh brother you too!!  I am tired of this, its enough with the clairvoyance I want to go back to my art for crying out loud.  My friend Troy got very quiet and said, they say they will help you sell your paintings.  Boom, the magic words.  I followed the carrot, ok!

The rest is history, needless to say I notice I am selling more paintings than I used to!

The Mind

The mind creates its own energy field which vibrates, interacts with and surrounds our bodies.  It is so important to cultivate positivity and not fall prey to habitual worry because it weighs down part of our energetic field and this in turn can negatively impact our health.

When I work as a healer I can feel and hear people’s thought forms.  I see where this resides in the body as blocked energy, that could later manifest as a disease.  Especially toxic is self-loathing and having critical thoughts towards oneself.  Dr. Emoto’s books on water shows scientific evidence that prayer and negative thoughts (especially with the intention to harm), can either heal or harm water.  Our bodies are made up mostly of water so by thinking negatively we can pollute our own systems.  The body has the power to heal itself, just by monitoring your own thoughts and not making it a habit to worry you can really turn your health around not to mention feel better.

Another pattern to be careful of is habitually lying.  Lying corrodes our spirit and has a detrimental impact on the health of our aura.  Which later can manifest in break down and illness in the body.  To lie is to take the easy way out in life.  Sometimes we are embarrassed about who we are and lie to feel better about ourselves.  But this never lasts and all you will attract are other liars.  People who are truthful and spiritual will never want to be around a lie because they feel the degradation of falsehood.  If we want to be respected we must be as truthful as we can, in the end people who are really our friends and worthy of our friendship will stick around when we tell the truth.

A teacher I admire very much taught me that everyday he reviewed his actions and thoughts so he could move on to sleep and his next day complete.  He claimed this was how he maintained his health and well-being and it helped him work with his unconscious motives and drives.  We are always in process, but working with our mind is a practice that is taught by countless spiritual practices around the world.  The mind is a good place to begin and a good place to end.

Two City Mice move to the Country

I have exciting news.  After 25 years of living in Toronto, Canada.  My partner and I (who is a Scarborough born and raised boy), will move to the outer limits of Toronto.  I will still be traveling back and forth to Toronto to see clients but everyone can see me for in-person sessions at my lovely re-located office about 1 hour 20 minutes from metropolitan Toronto, after February 1st, 2012.  We will grow a garden and live in a peaceful forest environment just outside of Peterborough, Ontario.

My telephone, email etc. will all stay the same and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.  Jeff Marsh has so generously offered me a place to read clients at Tango Palace coffee house at Queen East in Leslieville, where I had been doing readings for so many years.  I will only be seeing pre-booked appointments there.  I will post my hours here of when I am in Toronto so you can see if something works for you time wise.  I am still working out the details but another friend has offered a space for energy healing sessions until I get some office space worked out some where in Toronto.  So stay tuned here for more details!

We are delighted to both live our dream of being closer to mother earth and grow our own food and hope to see you there soon!

Travel is good for your spirit

Here is a photo of me, just off a dirt road overlooking the desert plane that leads to Monument Valley.  Monument valley is known as an icon of the American west and many westerns were shot here amongst the stunning and haunting landscape forms known as buttes.  My first visit to the area I saw and met many people not from North America.  This area is managed by the Navajo people and visitors are allowed only in a few specific areas.

I have been to this area three times in the past 3 years.  Each time I learned a little more from the people in the area.  Navajo are pretty tight lipped about this special place, I was told Monument valley’s towering buttes are considered a holy land to the Navajo.  The root of their language is actually Dene and they originated from the North West Territories of Canada.  They migrated to this area I would imagine lead by their medicine people through dreams.  Monument Valley is situated in the center of four sacred mountains, Mount Blanca (white shell mountain) eastern doorway, Mount Taylor (turquoise mountain) southern doorway, San Francisco Peaks (abalone shell mountain) western doorway and Mount Hesperus (obsidian mountain) the northern doorway.  These places are going to gyrate and portals are going to open in the coming years.  On one of my trips I did get to visit and meet some Hopi people and that was a huge honor.

These people are very connected to Earth’s pathways and nervous system and understand her changes.  They know what to do and how to respond to what they are receiving from our mother the earth.  It is through ceremony and respecting the medicine people and medicine ways that they live through difficult times.  I am happy I traveled to those areas as I felt guided to do because now a connection has been forged that was not in my life before.  I am very grateful to all the people I met there and all that I learned.

A place to call Home

My partner and I are searching for a new home together.  It’s not going very well as we have a limited budget, many needs (which probably will not get fulfilled, I am beginning to realize) and I am getting depressed and downtrodden about the whole thing.  Something which should be so exciting and an adventure has become a chore.

Its got me thinking about faith and where home really is.  Doesn’t home reside in the heart?  What about being comfortable in our own skin, having a life which inspires us and strength of community at our backs.  The house part should just fall into place like a piece in a puzzle. I’m sending my prayers into that great cosmic swirl and letting Creator/God lead my partner and I to a place we could not have found on our own. I always find when I put my own ego aside and let spirit create a space for me, miracles happen.

Check in here to see where our path leads us.  We are leaving the city of Toronto so its a big change.  I will still be available in Toronto for consults and we won’t be too far from a Go train. Plus there’s the phone and skype right!!!  I long for a closer connection to Mother Earth and a quieter, simpler style of existence.

Welcome to my new Website

This is my first blog entry in a new and updated website to reflect a new and updated me.  I look forward to sharing knowledge I receive through my spiritual connection with you.

Today I wish to speak to the change in seasons and how important it is to honor that in some way as we move toward the stillness of winter’s cold and darkness.  When we notice the season’s rhythms we become more attuned to the ebbs and flows of our own bodies and soul’s.  We pause and take in the universal measurement of time, and if we are really getting outside of ourselves (our private concerns and worries), we may notice the light is different because the Earth is rotating differently on her axis.  Being a city dweller, I live so far from the natural world sometimes.  I need to take a moment and consider my personal relationship with my surroundings.

There are people who still live very close to the pulse of Mother Earth, and study her like scientists.  You might be very surprised to hear their findings.  Please enjoy a video below which interviews some elderly Inuit men in the Arctic and their observations about their surroundings.
